A Typical Day on a PHAB Camp

Volunteers work hard on a PHAB Camp. The days are long and the only time off is when the children are all in bed. This is the timetable for a typical day on a Camp. Bedtime may be later depending on the age of the kids.

Volunteers wake up

Volunteers start waking children, help those who need it

Breakfast

Load the minibuses

Leave the centre

Arrive at cycling for the disabled, split into three groups and

take it in turn on the bikes, the other groups play rounders

Picnic lunch

Load the minibuses and leave for the beach

14.00

Arrive at Rhyl beach, make sandcastles, bury the volunteers in the

sand, play in the sea and eat ice cream

17.30

Back into the minibuses and leave for dinner

18.00

Arrive at McDonalds for dinner, burgers, and all that jazz

Back into the buses for the trip back to the centre

20.00

Arrive back at the centre

Meet outside the front door with torches for the night treasure hunt

Bed time for the children

It's the boys turn sleeping out in the tent tonight

Volunteers' meeting in the common room to organise activities

for the next day
