How Do I Apply to Become a Volunteer?
- Decide which Camp you would like to go on.
- Download an information pack
If you've never been on a Camp then click here to download the pack for new volunteers
If you've been on a Camp in the last 2 years you should receive an information pack in early Febuary. If you haven't received one then contact the volunteer organiser.
The pack is in .pdf format. If you can't open it then visit www.adobe.com and download the free Acrobat reader
- Print out the application form on the last two pages of the information pack and fill it in
- Post it to the volunteer organiser whose address is at the bottom of the form
- The organiser will confirm that your form has been received
- We will contact your referees and conduct a police check
- We will confim your place on the Camp after April and ask you to send a returnable deposit of £25. This will be returned to you on the first day of the Camp
- You will need to attend the volunteer training day (see the diary for the date)
Notes
- The minimum age for volunteers is 17.
- We will not normally accept any volunteers less than 18 years of age for the Venture Camp.
- All volunteers will be expected to attend the volunteer training day. This will be held in Sutton Coldfield in Birmingham on a Sunday at the end of June. Look at the diary for this year's training date.
- All volunteers, whether new or experienced, will be asked to sign a form to allow the Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) to perform a search of the police national computer.
- We need a photocopy of either your Birth Certificate, Driving Licence or Passport and 2 different photocopies of identity evidence such as a P45, utility bill, marriage certificate or an official document with your current name and address on it.
- New volunteers will be asked to provide details of two people who may be approached as referees. These people should know the applicant well but not be related. Ideally one of the referees should an employer, tutor or teacher. The other should know the applicant socially.
- Experienced volunteers will be asked to provide one referee.
- If, once you have sent in your application form, you are no longer able to take part in a Camp then PLEASE contact us as soon as you know. We will need to offer your place to somebody else.
- If you have any queries about coming on the camp that aren't answered on this website then please contact the volunteer organiser
